Not my usual subject matter but, having been doing some editing for the Nature Picture Library yesterday I felt like sitting in the garden with my camera for an hour or so. The wild birds were too quick for me so I paid attention to some butterflies hiding among the long grass.

Ive been wanting to photograph these for a while, this year we have some nice whispy barley growing in the field outside our kitchen window and regularly there is a flight of Swallows swooping about catching bugs and the like. On Tuesday morning i finally found the time to go and (try!) to get some photos of them, they move pretty darn quick but make such lovely shapes in the air.
